Unemployment benefits help you if you lose your job or your training position. They replace part of your lost income and help you cover your living expenses. You will normally receive these benefits for up to 12 months. After that, you can apply for basic income support. You can find more information here.

In Germany, children, adolescents, and young adults should have equal opportunities. Education and participation in social and cultural life are key prerequisites for equal opportunity. If you do not have enough money to cover your living expenses, you may be eligible for basic income support. To receive it, you must either live in a household with a recipient of basic income support or be generally able to work. Learn more about basic income support here.

If your company wishes to hire someone who has received benefits under SGB II for at least 21 months in the past 2 years, you can apply to the Job Center for a wage subsidy.

If you, as an employer, would like to hire individuals who have been receiving long-term benefits, you can apply to the Job Center for wage subsidies under the Equal Opportunity Act.
