You can apply for the low-income pass if you have a low income. You can then receive discounts at municipal facilities. Depending on the city or municipality, this may include reduced admission prices for museums, theaters, swimming pools, libraries or the zoo. In many cases, the pass also offers discounts on local public transport.

Who is entitled?

In principle, you can obtain the low-income pass if your income is low.

In addition, the following requirements apply:

In some municipalities, you also meet the requirements if you:

  • receive economic youth welfare benefits
  • receive supplementary assistance for living expenses
  • live in a retirement or nursing home

You cannot obtain the low-income pass if

  • the city or municipality in which you have your main residence does not offer a pass for low-income earners.
  • you do not meet the requirements set by your municipality, for example because your income is above the maximum income limit set by the municipality.
