Municipal Integration Services for Recipients of Basic Income Support

To be approved for local integration assistance, it’s best to contact your Job center. There, you’ll find out what types of assistance you’re eligible for and what documents you need to submit. The Job center will review your application and then make a decision.

You can also fill out your application online here and submit the necessary documents digitally.

Caregiving services are part of Municipal Integration Services, because the time-consuming care of family members or children can make it difficultfor you, as a recipient of basic income support, to find a job.

If your personal obligations prevent you from entering the workforce, your local Job Center can help you arrange for assistance from others.

This applies to the following areas:

• home care for family members
• Care for minor children
• Care for children with disabilities

Important: As a first step, you need a positive approval notice from your local Job center. Only then can the costs incurred for childcare or home care be covered.

Counseling services are part of Municipal Integration Services, because a difficult or stressful life situation can prevent you, as a recipient of basic income support, from finding work.

Your local Job center can assist you by referring you to debt counseling, psychosocial support, and addiction counseling to improve the conditions for your reentry into the workforce.

Debt Counseling

Debt counseling helps you get your financial affairs in order.  

Psychosocial Support

Psychosocial support is available if you need assistance with mental health issues or are in a crisis situation.

Addiction Counseling

Addiction counseling provides you with support, regardless of the type or severity of your addiction. This may include, for example, general counseling on addiction risks, addictive substances, or dependency. You can also access further assistance programs for people struggling with addiction.  

The application is free of charge.

You can apply for municipal integration services online. You can also upload your documents online.

If you would like to schedule a personal consultation, the process usually works as follows:

1. You schedule a consultation with your contact person at the Job Center.
2. You will then discuss whether Municipal Integration Services are possible and what types of support can be offered.
3. If Municipal Integration Services are available, your contact person will discuss the next steps with you.
4. Your case worker will provide you with the necessary documents.
5. If necessary, fill out the documents. Be sure to include the required supporting documents or proof. Then return all documents to your local Job center.
6. You can also submit the application online and send the supporting documents digitally.
7. The Job Center will inform you whether your application has been approved and whether you will receive the support.
8. If your application is approved, the reimbursable costs will be transferred to the bank account you provided.

Important: Please note that you must receive a positive approval notice from your local Job center before incurring any costs for child care or home care for family members in order for those costs to be covered.

Reimbursable costs are generally transferred to the account you have specified.

There is no legal entitlement to Municipal Integration Services. Your local Job center will determine whether and to what extent support for integration into the labor market is appropriate.
