Questions about multilingualism
A menu item on the top left of this page shows the current language version. Click on the little arrow to display the different languages and you can then choose the language version you want. Please note that the Social Platform is not yet available in full in all the language versions you can choose from. We are continuously working on expanding the service.
Applications must always be completed in German. However, all applications can be displayed with supplementary information in other languages. Entries in the form fields must nevertheless be made in German.
Simple language is an important part of our accessible communication. It is a simple version of our language, and avoids things like complicated phrases and convoluted sentences. Persons whose level of German is not so good, or who have learning difficulties or difficulties with reading, find it easier to understand texts in simple language.
The Social Platform is aimed at people who live in Germany or have returned to the country, as well as people from other countries who want to move to Germany. “Normal” written or even spoken language is difficult for many people to understand and therefore represents a barrier. Simple language overcomes this barrier and ensures that persons whose level of German is not so good, or who have learning difficulties or difficulties with reading, can easily understand texts and receive important information.
