You have suffered damage to your health as a result of a harmful event in Germany. The damage to health can be physical or psychological damage.

If adirect link between the harmful event and the damage to health can be proven, you can receive benefits under social compensation law.
Under certain circumstances, injuries sustained abroad can also be recognized.
The benefits are intended to help mitigate the economic and health consequences of the damaging event, for example by compensating for any loss of income and/or covering the costs of medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Affected persons can be victims of civilian service, war victims, vaccination victims or victims of violence. Witnesses to a violent crime may also be entitled to benefits.
The benefits are clarified with the relevant authority, which will inform you which benefits you may be eligible for. These may include counseling and support services, benefits for medical treatment, participation, benefits for the need for long-term care, psychotherapeutic services and compensation payments.
If you need urgent psychological help after an act of violence, you can go to a trauma outpatient clinic for quick help.
A few details are sufficient for the first visit to a trauma outpatient clinic or you can submit a brief application with support so that you can have up to 15 sessions there.

Rapid treatment in a trauma outpatient clinic
Trauma outpatient clinics offer rapid and early advice and psychological help to victims of physical, psychological and sexual violence in particular in order to help them cope with the consequences of the crime.
As a victim and relatives, survivors and loved ones, you are entitled to a total of up to 15 sessions in the trauma outpatient clinic, provided you meet the requirements.
You can also attend the first sessions without a decision from the authorities.
After 2 sessions at the latest, you must submit a brief application. The trauma outpatient clinic will help you with this.
