Note on the application
The online application - simply explained
Enter your zip code. Based on your location, we will check whether an online application is possible.
Fill out the online application. You can complete the online form from the comfort of your own home. Evidence can simply be photographed and uploaded.
Send the application digitally. Check beforehand that you have provided all the necessary information and evidence correctly.
Wait for the processing time. If there are any queries or new information about your application, the responsible office will contact you.
Notes on data storage
If you log in with your service account, you can cache your application and continue at a later time. Please note, however, that the information you fill in will only be cached for 24 hours. After the 24 hours have expired, you will have to start the application again from the beginning.
Short and sweet
People with disabilities can claim protective rights and benefits. If the GdB is at least 50, people with disabilities can receive a Severely Disabled Pass. The Severely Disabled Pass proves that your disability has been officially recognized.
Do I have a claim?
Only people with a severe disability receive a Severely Disabled Pass. People with a degree of disability (GdB) of 50 or more are severely disabled.
The GdB is determined by the district administration or, in an independent city, the city administration.
You must also live or work in Germany.
Required documents
To apply for a Severely Disabled Pass, you will usually need your identity card and a passport photo. Medical documents about your current state of health are also an advantage.
The office will request any missing documents from the doctors and the offices specified in the application.
The responsible office may also request additional documents from you individually.
Deadlines
As a rule, there are no special deadlines for applying for a Severely Disabled Pass.
That's how long it takes
The processing time for your application depends on whether your information is complete and how quickly all the required documents are available.
As a rule, a decision is made within three to six months as to whether you will receive a Severely Disabled Pass.
