Looking for a new job can involve some costs. Sometimes you even have to move to find the right position. To help you focus fully on your job search or on-the-job training, financial support is available from the placement budget.

Key Points at a Glance

If you receive basic income support, a grant from Placement Budget is intended to help you find and start a new job or training program. Your local Jobcenter can provide you with financial support by covering the following costs, for example

  • Job application costs
  • Travel expenses to job interviews
  • Costs for required documents (such as certified copies, translations)
  • Moving expenses (if you need to move for the new job)

Please note that a grant from the Placement Budget is a discretionary benefit . You have no legal entitlement to a grant from the Placement Budget. Your local Jobcenter decides whether you will receive financial support and, if so, in what amount.

The application is free of charge and can be submitted verbally or in writing. Depending on the type of support you have applied for, you must provide the appropriate supporting documents . Your case worker will inform you which documents must be included with your application.

The social services platform not only allows you to apply for a grant from Placement Budget. If you have already done so, you can also use an online form to simply upload supporting documents or submit receipts for expenses incurred.

You must submit your application for a grant from the Placement Budget before the costs are incurred.
