If you're looking for financial assistance to help you finish high school or pursue a college degree, BAföG may be the right program for you.

Key Points at a Glance

The Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) provides financial support to young people for their schooling and college education.

There are two types of BAföG: BAföG for high school students and BAföG for college students. High school students and college students can receive a grant or an interest-free loan. If you are a high school student, the interest-free loan does not have to be repaid.

Note:

Since the legal framework governing BaföG is quite complex, you should contact your local Office for Educational Assistance as early as possible.
