In a nutshell
You can receive an Activation and Placement Voucher (AVGS) if you need assistance with (re)entering the workforce or want to improve your chances of finding a job. To do so, you must be receiving benefits from a Job center.

Am I eligible?
The Activation and Placement Voucher is a discretionary benefit. This means there is no legal entitlement to it.
Your Job Center will review each case individually to determine whether the eligibility requirements for this assistance have been met.

Required Documents
Generally, no documents are required.
However, if necessary, your local Job center may ask you to provide certain documents or proof.

Deadlines
The completed Activation and Placement Voucher, including all relevant attachments, must be submitted in original form to the responsible Job center before the intended support begins.

That's how long it takes
The processing time for your application varies depending on the individual case.
The Job Center will do its best to notify you as soon as possible. As a rule, this takes about 2 to 4 weeks.

These costs are incurred
The Activation and Placement Voucher is free of charge.
Once the voucher has been approved, individually incurred and necessary expenses can be reimbursed.
These include, for example, travel expenses, work equipment, childcare costs, and off-site accommodations.
