Municipal Integration Services

In order to receive municipal integration assistance, it is best to speak to your job center. They will tell you what assistance you can claim and what you need to submit. The job center will review your application and then make a decision.

You can also complete your application online here and send the necessary documents digitally.

Care services are part of the municipal integration services, as the time-consuming care of relatives or children can make it difficult for you to find work as a recipient of citizen's allowance.

If your personal obligations prevent you from finding a job, your local job center can help you organize help from others.

This applies to the following areas

• Home care for relatives
• Care for underage children
• Care for children with disabilities.

Important: As a first step, you need a positive approval notice from your responsible job center. Only then can any costs incurred for care or home care be covered.

Counseling services are part of the municipal integration services, as a difficult or stressful life situation can lead to you being unable to find work as a recipient of citizen's allowance.

Your local Jobcenter can support you by arranging debt counseling, psychosocial support and addiction counseling to improve the conditions for your professional integration.

Debt counseling

Debt counseling will help you to sort out your financial situation.  

Psychosocial support

Psychosocial support is available if you need help with mental health problems or in crisis situations.

Addiction counseling

With addiction counseling, you receive support regardless of the type or severity of the addiction. This can be, for example, general advice on addiction risks, addictive substances or dependency. You can also take advantage of further help services for addicts.  

The application is free of charge.

You can apply for municipal integration benefits online. Your documents can also be uploaded online.
 

If you would like to have a personal consultation, the process usually looks like this:

1. You arrange a consultation appointment with your contact person at the Jobcenter.
2. They will then discuss with you whether a municipal integration service is possible and what support services can be offered.
3. If municipal integration services are possible, your contact person will discuss the next steps with you.
4. The contact person will provide you with the relevant documents.
5. If necessary, complete the documents. Please also enclose the necessary supporting documents. Then send all the documents back to the Jobcenter responsible for you.
6. You can also submit the application online and send the supporting documents digitally.
7. The job center will inform you whether your application has been approved and you will receive the support.
8. If you receive approval, the eligible costs will be transferred to the account you specified.

Important: Please note that before you incur costs for childcare or home care for relatives, you need a positive approval notice from your responsible job center so that costs can be covered.

There is no legal entitlement to municipal integration services. Your local job center will decide whether and to what extent support for integration into the job market is appropriate.
