The social platform covers the following OZG benefits:

• Activation and professional integration
• Citizen's allowance*
• Needs for education and participation (BuT)
• Certificate for Low-income earners
• Promotion of taking up gainful employment
• Basic welfare for the elderly and people with reduced earnings capacity
• Cost-of-living assistance (Hilfe zum Lebensunterhalt)
• Aid to overcome particular social difficulties
• Performances in accordance with the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act
• Social compensation (SGB XIV)
• Debtor counseling
• Addiction counseling
• Takeover of rent arrears

The OZG benefits listed here are sometimes implemented in several application routes.

The social platform offers citizens, advice centers and local authorities a wide range of functions:

• Social Benefit Finder

By answering a few questions about their life situation, those seeking advice can find out which benefits they are potentially entitled to.

• Application routes

Various applications for social benefits in the field of work and retirement can be submitted via the social platform. Examples can be found in the section Prototypes of application plugs to click through.

• Counselling center finder

Counsellors can use this function to search for counselling services on the topics of addiction, debt and emergency housing assistance in their area.

• Online appointment booking function

Counsellors can easily book an appointment for selected counselling services online, whether for an on-site consultation or for online counselling.

• Chat & video function

This function enables advice centers to also provide the requested advice services digitally. People seeking advice can get advice in person via video or write anonymously via chat.

• Self-service function for advice centers

Advice centers can use this function to independently maintain their data (e.g. contact details, opening hours, etc.) and link to their own services.

Citizens who want to apply for or find out about social benefits can use the Social Benefits Finder to search for potential benefits on the social platform.

After answering a few simple questions, potentially relevant social benefits including brief information are displayed.

Citizens can find out more about the benefit or apply for it directly.

To do this, citizens authenticate themselves, e.g. via the BundID, and complete the application online.

The application can then be sent directly to the relevant office via the portal.

It is also possible for carers or authorized representatives to submit the applications on behalf of others.
