If you receive citizen's benefit, you can take part in a so-called work opportunity under certain conditions. This can improve your chances of (re-)entering working life.
ALG helps you if you lose your job or training. It replaces part of your missing income and helps you to secure your livelihood. You normally receive the benefit for up to 12 months. After that, you can apply for citizen's allowance.
B
Vocational training allowance (BAB) is a financial grant for young people in their first vocational training. It helps to pay for rent, meals or travel costs, for example.
If you are looking for financial support to finish school or study, BAföG may be the right benefit for you.
Has a relative of yours died and you are unable to pay the funeral costs yourself? Is your inheritance or death benefit not enough? Under certain circumstances, the social welfare office can cover the funeral costs.
In Germany, children, adolescents and young adults should have the same opportunities. Education and participation in social and cultural life are important prerequisites for equal opportunities. This is why the state promotes benefits for education and participation, also known as the education and participation package.
If you or your relatives are blind or have a similarly severe long-term visual impairment, the state can provide you with additional support in the form of blindness benefit.
If you do not have enough money to cover your living expenses, you may be entitled to citizen's benefit. In order to receive it, you must either live in a community of need with a citizen's benefit recipient or generally be able to work.

Are you or a close relative disabled or at risk of long-term disability? The wide range of integration assistance services are designed to help you participate in social life.
If you, as an employer, would like to employ eligible persons, you can apply to the Jobcenter for wage subsidies in accordance with the Participation Opportunities Act. Persons who have been unemployed for at least two years and receive citizen's benefit are eligible.
Do you receive Citizen's Income and are self-employed? Or are you planning to become self-employed as your main occupation after receiving the citizen's allowance? The Jobcenter can support you in integrating into self-employment.
If you receive assistance with living expenses or basic income support in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity, you may be entitled to this benefit - for example, if you need maternity clothes.
Are you currently receiving citizen's allowance and would like to become self-employed? Or would you like to take up employment subject to social insurance contributions? Then the start-up allowance could be the right benefit for you.
Do you have a low income? Then under certain conditions you can get a certificate of eligibility for a reduced local transport ticket. This allows you to travel regionally by bus and (streetcar) train at a reduced price.

A voluntary benefit provided by cities and municipalities to enable participation in social and cultural life when income is low.
If you are looking for or taking up a new job or training, you can have some expenses reimbursed. This also applies to expenses that you incur within the first 6 months of starting work. This funding comes from the so-called placement budget.
Are you between 15 and 25 years old and currently in a difficult situation, for example because you can't find a job or apprenticeship? Then support for hard-to-reach young people can help you.
Do you receive citizen's benefit, are you being supported by the Jobcenter in finding work and need special help to fully re-enter the job market? Or do you already have a job, but it is not enough to get you out of the need for assistance?
