Here you will find support services if you have applied for asylum. You can receive benefits in accordance with the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG) to cover the necessities of daily life. Benefits to which you may also be entitled are also listed. These include, for example, assistance with housing, mobility, leisure activities and education and participation for children and young people.

Asylum-Seekers’ Benefits Act (AsylbLG)

If you have made a request for asylum or applied for asylum in Germany, you may also be eligible to receive financial and material assistance under the Asylum-Seekers’ Benefits Act (AsylbLG) if you meet certain requirements. Foreign nationals whose deportation has been suspended or who are (enforceably) obligated to leave the federal territory may also be eligible for these benefits. Learn more here.

Education and Participation

In Germany, children, teens and young adults are supposed to have equal opportunities. Education and participation in social and cultural activities are important factors in ensuring equal opportunity. For this reason, the state provides benefits to support education and participation. This is also known as the education and participation package.

Low Income Pass

Do you have a low income and would like to receive discounts at municipal facilities in your area, for example at the public library or swimming pool? If your town or municipality offers this voluntary service, you can apply for the low-income pass. You can find out more here.

Discounted Public Transport Ticket

Do you have a low income? Then under certain conditions you can get a certificate of eligibility for a reduced local transport ticket. This allows you to travel more cheaply on regional buses and (streetcar) trains. You can find out more about this benefit here.
